The Grooves band has been a favorite of affordable Austin wedding bands since 1991 and has a proven track record of keeping the crowd on the dance floor and partying till the very end of the night. This popular band has been specializing in wedding receptions since 1991 and performs over 90 weddings a year to rave audiences across Texas. The band plays all genres of songs with their diverse catalog from 60s to high-energy current pop hits, picking songs to play based on crowd response to ensure a perfect playlist that keeps the energy s rocking all night. They also have a classy dinner set complete with a horn section that adds that extra touch of extravagance to your reception. The dinner set is at a comfortable volume so that while everyone is eating, they can converse comfortably without having to shout.
Ron, the band leader, also acts as MC announcing all events throughout the night including best man toasts, cutting of the cake and bouquet, and garter toss. He can also provide a microphone for toasts and speeches. The band can wear tuxes all night for a formal occasion or switch to outrageous costumes later in the night during the high-energy dance sets. Often times the band will start out with the classic music during the dinner set and then when the dance set starts, the band goes into 60’s 70’s and 80’s with some current as well. The very diverse song catalog they play during this set is geared to be enjoyed by all ages including the older folks that often are still there during the second set. Later on in the night, at most weddings, it’s mostly lots of young people so current dance music is the norm during that time. Once again, the band picks songs based on crowd response so depending on the crowd, the genres of music played during the second and last set might be totally different. This is the only way to ensure that the energy of the party stays rocking during the whole night. Most wedding bands just pick forty songs and play them no matter how the crowd is reacting but the Grooves band plays custom sets based on your crowd’s response.
